Our barriers are self-imposed for the most part. That's both good and bad news. Good because it's an attitude within us, and therefore, we can change it. However, that's the downside, too as most of us don't like to feel uncomfortable in our life choices<div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;" class="sharethis-inline-share-buttons" data-url=https://fromaddict2advocate.com/5-common-barriers-change/></div>

“Could we change our attitude, we should not only see life differently, but life itself would come to be different. Life would undergo a change of appearance because we ourselves had undergone a change of attitude.” ― Katherine Mansfield<div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;" class="sharethis-inline-share-buttons" data-url=https://fromaddict2advocate.com/recovery-an-adventure-or-ordeal-its-all-in-the-attitude/></div>

Start your day by isolating your negative emotions and the fears beneath them. Next, create a calming statement and test how you feel about the situation after you write your calming statement. Do this for 30 days and see if you don't see a difference in how you regulate your fears. Here are some examples to get you started.<div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;" class="sharethis-inline-share-buttons" data-url=https://fromaddict2advocate.com/negative-emotions-are-bundles-of-fear/></div>

In meetings, we'll hear people talk about Stinking Thinking and know they're talking about the faulty logic or the negative thoughts. But what are some types of thinking that get us in trouble, cause us to view the world through a distorted lens, or just don't make sense when we analyze them? <div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;" class="sharethis-inline-share-buttons" data-url=https://fromaddict2advocate.com/stinkin-thinkin-and-the-negative-results/></div>

The difference is once you get past that first one, you have acquired the skills to do so, as well as the confidence that you can do it again. Any wall you will face in the future will feel a lot smaller, and a lot less in<div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;" class="sharethis-inline-share-buttons" data-url=https://fromaddict2advocate.com/recovery-life-happens-side-wall/></div>
