Our barriers are self-imposed for the most part. That's both good and bad news. Good because it's an attitude within us, and therefore, we can change it. However, that's the downside, too as most of us don't like to feel uncomfortable in our life choices<div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;" class="sharethis-inline-share-buttons" data-url=https://fromaddict2advocate.com/5-common-barriers-change/></div>

We're all rather like the nesting dolls; we're layered and complex. But if we look within, we will find all the qualities and answers necessary to overcome adversity, problems, and difficulties. We just have to keep looking for them. <div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;" class="sharethis-inline-share-buttons" data-url=https://fromaddict2advocate.com/recovery-your-answers-are-within/></div>

While those are only five ways to keep an addiction dormant, the most important one for me, is don't pick up the substance that made the addiction burst into bloom in the first place. I'd like you to add to the fives ways to keep an addiction dormant. Just leave a comment, thanks. <div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;" class="sharethis-inline-share-buttons" data-url=https://fromaddict2advocate.com/addiction-dormant-or-bursting-into-full-bloom/></div>

We had a new member in our group tonight. Most of the women have over six months in recovery and facilitating this group, I've gotten to know them.  I never expect the newest to speak first, but always acknowledge them and let them know that they may either speak first or let us know when they are ready to introduce themselves; but to always feel free to contribute to the conversation at any time.<div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;" class="sharethis-inline-share-buttons" data-url=https://fromaddict2advocate.com/recovery-when-you-contribute-we-all-learn/></div>

“I think that the best kind of change, is the change that comes from the inside and begins its way out until it emerges on the outside; a change that is born underneath then continues and spreads until it has reached the surface. That's a true change. A powerful change. And I have found that while we are emerging, changing into something glorious; it is actually us becoming who we really are.― C. I know it's hard to accept responsibility for our life choices. I spent years blaming my parents, bosses, husbands, lovers, and even my children for whatever was wrong. And when we're not blaming, we're trying to get everyone to focus only on our positive aspects.<div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;" class="sharethis-inline-share-buttons" data-url=https://fromaddict2advocate.com/when-blaming-others-stops-working/></div>

Labels can hurt, embarrass, or help you start your recovery. For me, that began with saying, "I am a recovering addict." <div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;" class="sharethis-inline-share-buttons" data-url=https://fromaddict2advocate.com/addiction-labels-hurtful-embarrassing-or-a-beginning/></div>
