At that moment, I truly valued and appreciate this job. It wasn't prestigious, glamorous, or a job that anyone would covet, but it was my job. And it was a job that let me leave the campus at 10:30 every day, eat a quick mid-morning snack, and make a noon recovery support meeting. <div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;" class="sharethis-inline-share-buttons" data-url=https://fromaddict2advocate.com/early-recovery-jobs-lowered-expectations-and-heightened-rewards/></div>

Affirmations have to resonate, vibrate, or echo your desire. If not, there is a block created, as it is unbelievable. For instance, I could create one stating: I am perfect, just as I am now! Even as I write it, I know it is untrue, therefore, no matter how many times I wrote it, I would not internalize this as a valid affirmation. <div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;" class="sharethis-inline-share-buttons" data-url=https://fromaddict2advocate.com/affirmations-help-us-heal-in-our-recovery/></div>

Some family and friends never extend the same amount of trust because they simply will not put themselves in a vulnerable position again. The pain our addiction caused them is too much to forget so quickly. <div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;" class="sharethis-inline-share-buttons" data-url=https://fromaddict2advocate.com/why-dont-you-trust-me-i-didnt-use/></div>

How often do you pay attention to your thoughts?  Have you ever sat back and taken a close look at how your thoughts influence the way you feel, and behave? Have you recognized how you tend to think about your life situations; are you positive or negative about them?  Thoughts are a very powerful thing, and influence your life in unimaginable ways. <div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;" class="sharethis-inline-share-buttons" data-url=https://fromaddict2advocate.com/recovery-is-changing-those-habitual-thoughts/></div>
